I am not a Mauser expert; please do your own research.  This is an 8MM Mauser and the barrel was manufactured at Obendorf Germany, we believe during 1934.  Over the years this Mauser was transitioned from a historic military firearm and had the original stock cut, the stock was reshaped to a more modern hunting rifle stock. The person that did the work filled-in with wood putty the original sling guide and the stock grommet that was used to disassemble the bolts spring.  You will notice that this barrel is stamped with tiny birds (see detailed photos). This rifle is fully functional and the former owner used it for hunting.
